I
first met Debbie Macomber when she was writing Harlequin Romance
books. She generously shared with me the trials and the
successes she'd faced, and then, remembered me. She's had my
back so many times over the years, from suggesting when I needed
to branch out within the Harlequin brand, hooking me up with an
agent, to teaching me how to run an author's office. She's
quoted on my books, and, even now, if I run into Debbie, she
smiles, offers genuine conversation. She remembers me. Debbie,
to me, is a conglomeration of every heroine she's ever written.

Heather Graham has
been in my writing life for as long as I can remember. In her
writing, in life, in everything she does, Heather gives her all.
Her generosity of spirit called out to me. From throwing parties
to being willing to share anything with anyone, Heather has
always been larger than life, always there, always giving, and
always with a smile. At a time when support meant everything to
me, Heather very graciously agreed to have one of my books tag
along with hers in a special release re-issue. I will never
forget. ttq |
I 'met' RaeAnne Thayne when email loops
first came to be! Through all the years
of our 'growing up' she's continued to shine her special spirit
on me and anyone I've ever seen her with. And through the years
I've seen her remain true to who she is. I asked her once about
writing to the market, and I remember her answer every time I
sit down to write. 'I just tell my stories.' RaeAnne's
books are an expression of the person I know her to be. They're
real, full of heart and compassion, and leave you with a smile.
Just as she does. ttq |
I started out just looking up to Sharon Sala, and eventually came to know her. The lessons she's blessed
me with are beyond writing. She's shown me not only how to get
myself to the chair every day, to write no matter what, but how
to navigate life, endure the bad with the good, and find good in
it. Her books emulate this
same heart and soul. A note from Sharon that is on a sticky note
on my monitor - 'Allow the quiet space to heal that which is
broken within' - speaks to me every day - personally and for my
characters, too. ttq
